2025 Project Announced!
Local Community: KIND (Kids in Need of Defense) KIND provides pro bono legal services, social services, policy and advocacy work, and family separation response to unaccompanied minors and children. They work tirelessly to ensure children do not appear in court alone, and that they are safe, protected, and valued. With a national focus on deportations and ICE raids in local communities across the country, a record number of unaccompanied and separated children are being left to navigate the court system without the parents and trusted adults they once lived with; additionally, escalating global conflicts continue to result in unaccompanied minors seeking safety. Regardless of why a child or minor is unaccompanied, regardless of where they are from or how they ended up in this country, unaccompanied children and minors are vulnerable to exploitation, trafficking, and abuse.
